Lupe Fiasco – “B*tch Bad”
by Nadav

I knew Lupe Fiasco’s first single off his long awaited Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, “Around My Way(Freedom Ain’t Free)”, was a step in the right direction. “B*tch Bad” is his second single off the sequel project due out September 26th. The content, especially the story in the first verse, are powerful and another positive sign of Lupe’s progress after Lasers. The bass heavy beat hasn’t yet stuck with me because it feels a little out of place with the message of the track, but it could be ironic as it sounds like a pretty hood beat. He experiments with a bit of an uneven rhythm and interesting rhyme scheme at times which I’m still battling with. Nonetheless, I’m pretty happy with the final result.
