Throwback Thursday: Cold Crush Brothers – “Fresh, Fly, Wild and Bold”

Now this is a THROWBACK! This is some old hip-hop, but if you’ve got any love for the genre you better respect these guys. Perhaps some of the earliest pioneers in the game, the Cold Crush Brothers formed back in the Bronx in 1979. A funny thing that to me that definitely contributes to how old school the group is has got to be the names of each group member. Original DJ Tony Tone, Supreme Easy A.D., DJ Charlie Chase, Mr. Tee, Whipper Whip, and Dot-A-Rock make up the Cold Crush Brothers, with Whipper Whip and Dot-A-Rock leaving later to join the Fantastic Five. The track is the group’s most successful single, released in 1984. This track just shows the roots of emceeing.
