Hendersin – No Rhyme or Reason (Mixtape)

by Nadav
After this project, I’m sure we’ve found a gem. Jump on the bandwagon before he blows up guys. The tape features a compilation of Hendersin’s(Facebook) tracks that have been recorded over the last year since the ‘On The Road’ mixtape. We loved his track ‘Livin’ My Life’ and others off of his first mixtape so Hendersin gives us more sick material.
He displays his overall skills all over this mixtape with his constant flow and clever rhymes. Don’t forget the solid production on all these tracks. My favorites are ‘Can’t Be Without You’, ‘Tell Me’,  ’Ready’, and ‘Bad Guy’.

Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y – Huey Newton

by Nadav
Chillin’ instrumental, 1980′s pop feel. Sounds like Wiz is getting back to his old ‘The Thrill’ days and Curren$y always does his thing.

Big Sean ft. Chiddy Bang – Too Fake

by admin
Xaphoon Jones (Chiddy Bang) is a great producer. He’s all over this track with the sick sample along with Big Sean’s flow and Chiddy’s tight verse.

Throwback Thursday: Wu Tang Clan – C.R.E.A.M.

by Nadav
With their hard raps, ominous sound, and piano samples, Wu-Tang Clan came out with a bang in 1993 with their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Among the tracks on their first album, C.R.E.A.M. stands out with its well-known hook by Method Man. It outlines the tough life in the ghetto. The Staten Island-based group brought a fresh take to old-school rap.

L-ement ft. Hendersin – Militant Man

by admin
Conscious rappers always make me realize the power of hip hop. L-ement teams up with our previous Friday Feature Hendersin on this great track for our soldiers. Really chill beat with solid production and sick verses. After this track we gotta get on more L-ement.

Fresh New Artist: Eddy B & Tim Gunter

by admin
Eddy B & Tim Gunter (Facebook) are two up and coming college students from North Carolina. Eddy B is on the vocals, Tim Gunter on the beats. They only began releasing tracks earlier this year but put out a solid mixtape, Dear North Carolina, Welcome Back.
It’s a Mad World’ is a must listen with a really cool sample and Eddy B‘s flow as well as skilled verses. ‘Bring in the Day’ is an upbeat track with another sick sampling and solid rapping. Hope to hear more from these guys soon.

Superior Webbs (Exclusive Interview)

by Nadav

Hey guys. We recieved a great response after our fresh new artist post about this up and coming duo so we decided to conduct a short interview. Great answers from them, so make sure to check this out. While you’re reading, here’s their great song ‘Just Breathe’(Download).
Previous Post

1. What brought you guys to hip hop and how did you meet?
Too Shade has been making beats and writing rhymes since back in the day, the man has raw ability to hear a sound and transform it into something of his own. TO started writing rhymes back in high school, but never released any material until “Blue Jeans n Nikes” TO brings to the table a very unique sound and style that he proudly calls his own. We both went to different high schools, but they were only 10 miles apart, so I guess you could say we “knew of each other” but nothing on a personal level. We both go to UW-Milwaukee and that’s where we officially met for the first time. We both knew we could rap, but once we heard our voices together on a track for the first time… the rest is history… Superior Webbs was born. (As for why we are named Superior Webbs.. we’ll save that for another day)
2. Our favorite song is ‘Just Breathe’, do you guys have a favorite of yours?

The song we are most proud of would have to be Just Breathe simply because of the number of people that can relate to it. We have had multiple people tell us that this song has helped them get through a difficult time and that really means a lot to us, knowing that our music can not only entertain, but can help others as well. And then there is Finally Moving, which is just a classic SW track.
3. What collaborations are on the horizon?

Superior Webbs has put out 2 mixtapes in the past year, and we’re on our grind as we speak for more. Releasing our 3rd mixtape very soon titled “Getting’ Mashed Up” The 4th mixtape is already in the works as well; along with music and school… we have a lot on our plate.. As for collabs, we don’t have any plans at the moment, but an artist we would like to get in contact with is Tayyib Ali, other than that we are open to anything.
4. How do you separate yourselves from the majority of hip hop/what makes you different?

We just are ourselves. Anybody that personally knows us would know that each of our individual personalities is reflected through our music. TO has that exciting vibe about him while Too Shade has a more laid back chill personality and this shows in our songs. We don’t think too much about trying to be the next “whoever”. We want others to try to be the next Superior Webbs.
Check out the rest after the jump

5. What genres/artists influence your music?

A lot of our music is influenced by artists that you wouldn’t necessarily affiliate with hip-hop. Too Shade has sampled artists such as Regina Spektor, Lykke Li, Sia, and many other Indie artists.

6. What can we expect in the future, either together or solo?
Too Shade recently put together a mash-up mixtape of SW songs from Blue Jeans and Nikes and Second Semester all on party beats. The mixtape will be called “Gettin’ Mashed Up” and will be released in the near future.
